National Association of Realtors Conference and Expo

Jennie Manders, Dilbeck Real Estate Christie’s Great Estates, recently attended the National Association of Realtors (N.A.R.) Conference & Expo in San Diego, where she participated in educational seminars, heard featured speakers including Condoleezza Rice, and networked with Realtors from around the world. With more than 20,000 attendees, it was a wonderful opportunity to learn about real estate market conditions throughout the world. Jennie attended a seminar on Economic Forecasting presented by Dr. Lawrence Yun, the chief economist for N.A.R. According to Dr. Yun, there are many positive indicators in the marketplace. The $8,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers caused an extra 350,000 to 400,000 home sales in the United States. There are more than 16 million renters who are qualified to buy median priced homes. According to Dr. Yun, we are at the beginning of the recovery and starting to come out of the recession. Jennie also attended courses on social media (LinkedIn, Face Book, Twitter, Flicker, and others). Lastly, Jennie attended presentations on the luxury home market which indicated that this market is currently significantly slower today with fewer sales and continued declining values.

By attending this 4-day conference, Jennie continues to stay abreast of current trends and to learn ways in which she can incorporate the most up-to-date marketing techniques into her business to enhance the service she offers her clients.
